TOURNAMENTS
Aaron's Uncle and part time coach is Ed Nagel. Ed was an ATP Tour player and held a professional ranking from 1982-1992 and 1996-1999. He is a two-time All American at the University of Michigan and a current teaching pro for professional and highly ranked junior players. Aaron's mom (Christine Nagel) is also a former 4 year #1 singles tennis player for the Lady Vols at the University of Tennessee. Aaron took over a year off of serious tournament play to concentrate on academic interests and to allow time to fully participate in mathematics and robotics competitions but he never stopped practicing. After a very successful Sophomore High School season where he played number # 2 singles on a very good playoff team and had really good success in post season singles and doubles in league and district tournaments, he has picked up a full tournament schedule and is doing very well. Since his tournament comeback, he's been in the finals of 4 of the 6 tournaments he's entered and won two off them this summer. He's entering a mix of B16s and B18s now and in his first B18s he beat the number one seed before losing to the eventual winner in the semis. So he's definitely getting his tournament feet back and having a lot of fun along the way! Not overplaying the past couple of years has left him full of energy and motivation to get to the top and peak when the time is right.
