Defeated 6 #1 high school players before reaching the age of 14
As a 12 year old, defeated Ledford High School's #1 player in local tournament
Won the last 13 tournaments straight that he competed in as a 12 year old
Has won many tournaments over the years, and is considered one of the better doubles players in NC because of his quick hands and terrific vollys. Has unbelievable speed on the court. You can never count him out of any point. Former high school coach, Denard Mclendon stated that "Brooks was the smartest player I have ever coached. He knows how to win".
Brooks has not played many national tournaments the past few years due to his mother being stricken with breast cancer. Because of her ongoing chemo treatments, (weekly) his father does not venture too far from home. This has hurt his ranking nationally and in Southern's where he had once been ranked as high as #13 in the South in Boy's 14's. Do not underestimate his ability and talents.
