The 18s final was played on the stadium court at the Darling Tennis Center between two Californians - fifth-seeded Kaitlyn Christian (Orange, CA) and unseeded Arianna Colffer (Corona, CA). This match immediately drew the morning crowd - Colffur put on a display of powerful groundstrokes while Christian ran down seemingly unreachable shots and defended well.
Leading 4-2, Colffur focused on her service game and won it at love to take a 5-2 lead. Christian looked as if she was going to have an easy hold of service, but Colffur ran off four straight points from 40-15 to close out the first set 6-2.
Colffur served first in the second set in a game that went five deuces. Christian defended well and broke to open the set. But Christian could not solidify her break and was broken right back. In fact there were six breaks of serve in the second set before Christian finally prevailed 6-4.
In the third set Colffur came out with a more aggressive mindset and only lost ten points in the entire set, closing out the three hour match 6-0 in the third.
