Blue Chip Leustian Gearing Up For UCLA

Stefan Leustian was ready to improvise on the fly. UCLA head coach Billy Martin wanted the Leustian to take a picture of him signing his National Letter of Intent today.

But the blue chip senior from Mather, California didn’t have any UCLA gear to wear. Luestian has been so busy training in Florida that he didn’t think about ordering any, and the nearby stores aren’t exactly stocked with Bruins shirts and hats.
"I am just thinking about printing out a piece of paper with the UCLA logo and taping it to my hat," Leustian said. "That is probably the best I can do at this point."
Leustian committed to the Bruins last Tuesday, and made it official today on Signing Day, which launches the start of the signing period for seniors and 2020 recruits.
Leustian chose UCLA over Washington, Notre Dame and Cal.
"I have seen all the things Billy and (assistant coach) Rikus (de Villiers) have done in the past and seen improvements from all the players," Leustian said. "I've been a really big UCLA fan since I was young, and I love the location. Nothing beats L.A. It was kind of like the best of every world."
