Halfway through the fall semester, junior players have many demands on their time. Between school and tennis, the work can be plentiful. We caught up with a few players who are juggling things successfully.
Liam Krall (Bronxville, New York)
Four-star junior Liam Krall credits his recent growth to his work with a new coach. About a year ago, he started training with Carl Thorsen.
“I think he really helped me take things to the next level,” Krall said. “That, along with age and maturity, has helped me to see the strategic aspects of the game more clearly.”

Lately, Krall and Thorsen have been working on harnessing the power of Krall’s height into his serve.
“We have really been focused on improving my serve,” Krall said. “I’m 6-foot-2 and still growing, and I should be getting more free points with a big serve. It’s still a work in progress.”
