Recruiting 101
New Changes to the SAT Test
Share:

Our friends at NCSA Athletic Recruiting bring you a monthly look at how to approach college tennis recruiting. NCSA helps to educate and assist committed student-athletes - helping them connect with college coaches. This month's topic? Announced changes to the SAT.

In March, College Board, the association that administers the SAT examination, announced several changes to the SAT that are scheduled to take effect in the Spring of 2016. These changes will impact the Class of 2017 and beyond.

Let's take a look at the pending changes:

  1. Test scores will revert to a 1600-point scale (going from three sections back down to two)
  2. The essay section will be optional, but some schools may still require the essay
  3. There will be no penalty for incorrect answers
  4. Vocabulary words will be changed to exclude obscure words
  5. Math concepts will include multi-step problems
  6. You won't be able to use a calculator on some parts of the exam

So... what does this mean to student-athletes?
