Peach State Roundup
by Julie Wrege, 2 June 2006
Players from a record twenty-nine states headed to Georgia last weekend for the Peach State Tennis Classic. The weather in "Hot-lanta" warmed up to mid-summer temperatures, and players had to be careful with two-a-day matches scheduled throughout the long Memorial Day weekend.
The fifteenth edition of the Peach State Tennis Classic was hosted for the first time at the Racquet Club of the South and several other clubs on the north side of metro-Atlanta. This year's tournament was dedicated to one of the original founders - the late Janet Louer, Director of Junior Programs USTA/Georgia - who had a vision of hosting a prominent tournament on the USTA National Schedule in Georgia.
