Share:

The NCAA Division III tennis committees on Monday selected the 44 men’s teams and 49 women’s teams that will compete in the NCAA Championship.

The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first, second- and third-rounds played at regional sites Thursday-Sunday. The championship finals will be held May 23-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

For the men, automatic qualification (AQ) is granted to 36 conference champions, which form "Pool A." One team will be selected from true independents and schools from conferences that do not have an automatic bid for their champions (Pool B). The remaining seven teams are selected from teams in conferences with automatic bids that did not win their conference's automatic bid and the remaining Pool B institutions (Pool C).

For the women, automatic qualification is granted to 39 conference champions, which form "Pool A." One team will be selected from true independents and schools from conferences that do not have an automatic bid for their champions (Pool B). The remaining nine teams are selected from those teams in conferences with automatic bids that did not win their conference's AQ and the remaining Pool B institutions (Pool C).

Teams are geographically paired in both brackets whenever possible.

The players selected for the individual championships will be announced on Wednesday.
