Georgia Tech-Bound Cohen Was Raised To Compete
Share:

Learning how to compete was never an issue for Gia Cohen. As the oldest sister to four brothers, it’s the only way to survive.

“Oh my goodness, everything in my house is a competition,” Cohen said. “We have daily ping pong tournaments where my brother makes a whole tennis draw with our names in brackets. The winner doesn’t have to do chores and the rest pick up their chores. It is crazy.”

Blue Chip Gia Cohen Has Signed With Georgia Tech

Cohen will be leaving the sibling revelry behind in January when she leaves to play for Georgia Tech. The blue chip from Bradenton, Florida signed her letter of intent on Wednesday.

Cohen took official visits to Georgia Tech, Clemson and Auburn before making her decision. She watched the Yellow Jackets practice and was impressed by how the coaches interacted with the players.

“I am trying to go pro and I honestly felt that Georgia Tech was the best way to help me achieve that,” Cohen said. “They were No. 4 last year and the team has amazing girls. They are so hard working and super nice. I really got along well with them and I can tell the coaches get all their players much better every year.”
