Two years ago, Saud Alhogbani stood out among his peers - and not just because he was 5-foot-10 - but also for winning gold balls at the National Clay Courts and National Hardcourts without dropping a set.
Three inches taller today, he is once again back-to-back champion of the 2017 Clays and Hardcourts.

The fourth-seeded Alhogbani defeated No. 17 Ben Shelton 7-5, 6-3 to capture the singles title in Mobile, Ala.
“I’ve matured as a person on and off the court,” the blue-chip champion said. “But it’s a team effort. I have a huge support team and I don’t think I could have done it without them.”
His team consists of his parents, eight siblings and four coaches from whom he draws instruction, inspiration, discipline, persistence and perseverance.
“I believe giving credit when it’s due,” Alhogbani said. “These past couple of years we worked really hard, and it would be very wrong of me not to mention their names and I think that each one of them deserves a lot of the credit.”
